Volunteers

Hamel Baseball would not exist without the commitment of volunteers. As an organization we depend on the time, skill and energy of literally dozens of volunteers. We offer a number of opportunities to volunteer. Many of these opportunities require less than 5 hours of commitment.  Remember without your help we cannot continue to offer the quality playing experience for hundreds of kids in our community.   It’s all about the kids!

Hamel Athletic Club Board (HAC)

• Honor the mission and administer the non-profit organization that Hamel Baseball operates through.
• Maintain regular communication with parents, coaches, sponsors, leagues and the community.
• Maintain policies and procedures which encourage coach and player development of the highest quality.
• Create relationships with local organizations and businesses to encourage sponsorship of Hamel Baseball.
• Administer the maintenance and scheduling of playing fields.  
• Work with the City of Medina to best serve Hamel Baseball and our players.

Web Site Administration

• Assist with the administration of the Hamel Baseball web site including registration, fee collection and communication to all participants.
• Assist HAC to effectively communicate information, policies and procedures.

League Coordinators

• Establish number and recruit coaches.
• Coordinate and manage player evaluations.
• Assist with player draft and team formation.
• Maintain communication link with and between coaches, leagues, parents and HAC.
• Assist with game, practice and tournament scheduling.
• Coordinate Hamel Baseball sponsored tournaments.
• Assist with uniform and equipment distribution and return.

Coaches

• Develop player skills appropriate to age and athletic ability.
• Encourage team work and good sportsmanship.
• Effectively communicate to players/parents goals and expectations.
• Assist with evaluations, draft and team formation.
• Assist with uniform + equipment distribution and return.
• Assist League Coordinators as requested.

Team Manager

• Assist Coaches with administrative duties and communications to the players and parents.

Field Maintenance

• Assist with light maintenance of playing fields to include raking, shoveling and general upkeep of the grounds.

Fundraising and Event Staffing

• Assist in identifying and cultivating potential Hamel Baseball sponsors.
• Staff Hamel Baseball sponsored events including tournaments and the Hamel Rodeo.
